KAZU KOKUBO PRO
Kazu is an icon. He’s one of snowboarding’s favorite sons, embraced around the world for his sense of
style and the way in which he interprets the flow of the snow and sense of what is possible. He’s a
dedicated soul, continually searching for adventure and a balance in life.

For 2018, his pro model graphics once again contrast his inner calling towards experience and
exploration with strong values such as his love for home and family
The Core Ash Woodgrain Topsheet reflects Kazu’s connection with nature, and the monochromatic
print captures the rising sun as well as the balance between conformity and rebellion.
On the base, two frogs represent Kazu’s children who are surrounded by a peacock. The
peacock stands as a symbol of compassion and kind-heartedness. It is believed to have
the power to invoke rain and snow, and it ensures health and positivity. The frogs are
also good luck symbols in Japan—especially for travelers. The Japanese word for frog
is kaeru, and the same word also means to return.
So, with this image in mind, those that travel the world as Kazu does can embrace
adventure with positivity and the symbolism of a safe return.
